Mapping Hell!!

Well, how delightful is this weather? Apparently, we haven’t had a summer like this in London for 7 years..….7 BLOODY YEARS!!!!  No wonder we all go crazy when the sun comes out.

I wanted to show you this ‘map’ printed dress I bought from Topshop (£55). The design is so beautiful, and it’s made from the softest material….It could almost pass for real ‘silk’.  After buying this dress I realised they sold it in the shirt version too! It has exactly the same design with a contrasting white collar. If you’re looking for the ‘purse friendly’ option, then I suggest buying the shirt, as it’s only £35. Take a look at both HERE

I don’t know about you but I have a severe lack of tops / shirts / cardigans in my wardrobe! Whenever I go shopping I find it more exciting to buy a nice new dress, a skirt, or pair of shorts.  I’ve told myself that when pay day arrives, I can go shopping… BUT I must invest in items that cover my top half!

Anyways, I'll have to love you and leave you. Off to Lovebox festival :-)

Grunge

After the week I’ve had at work, I deserve to chill the fuck out and do absolutely nothing this weekend and that’s what I’m going to do!  I’m writing this post from my ‘penthouse’ suite (ha!), wrapped in a blanket, drinking a cup of tea! This is the life.

I’m determined to get as much wear out of my boyfriend jeans as possible. I decided to go for the ‘grunge’ look and teamed them with my new balance, and a checked shirt. Personally I think tying a checked shirt around your waist is big!  It’s a great style trend because anyone can try it, and if you don’t like it, you just take it off! It brings something to the overall look and instantly makes you look that little bit cooler.

I have just clicked through my latest posts, and I think I’m a little bit obsessed with hats.  This pink beanie is from Reiss and adds that pop of colour the outfit needs. Perfect.

Stay cool

Trend Alert - The Boyfriend Jean

Recently, I am seeing the ‘boyfriend jean’ / distressed denim look a lot on the streets of London.  I can see why people would call them ‘unflattering’ with their ‘baggy’ fit– just make sure you roll up the hem!  Despite this, I am obsessed with my new ‘boyfriend jeans’ and I like to think I know how to treat them, keeping it simple but adding some spice with my ‘Iridescent’ brogues!  If like me, you prefer to dress like a boy, this ‘tomboyish style’ is perfect.  If not, add some heels and a crisp white shirt – both look equally as good.

So what do you think? Boyfriend Jeans – Yes or No?

Lastly, I added my vintage ‘peaked’ cap which I bought down Brick Lane for about £8.  If you didn't know already, the ‘peaked cap’ is the latest ‘must’ have accessory, and brings that ‘sporty’ yet ‘chic’ vibe to any outfit. What the hell is not to love?

The sun is actually out in London today so I am off to make the most of it, drink cider, take pictures, and mooch around vintage shops!

Iridescent - Miista Shoes

Seriously, what the hell is this weather about? It has been horrendous in London….one minute its sun, then it’s snowing, then rain….please will you make your mind up!!

On a more positive note, I would like to draw your attention to my shoes. Basically, I came across Miista a few months ago, and fell in love with everything on their website. Take a look HERE and I guarantee you will find some shoes you need.  I love them even more because there based in Hackney…my hometown!  These ‘Zoe Iridescent’ purple brogues were number 1 on my ‘wish list’, so I was rather happy when I received them on my birthday.  The boyfriend did well.  Next on my list are the 'ursula-purple-haze' platforms and these snakeskin 'nia-marmol' boots. I best get saving those pennies!

I’m also wearing this printed Kimono from Zara, my acid wash denim shorts and this ‘body chain’, both from Topshop.

If you know me at all, you know how much I love a plan, and as it's spring it’s now time to start planning my summer.  Any suggestions on festivals (home or away), exhibitions, gigs, nights out…please send them my way.

Monochrome Trend S/S13

I’m taking my blog back to the monochrome trend. Like I said Here, the monochrome trend isn’t going anywhere fast, which is perfect because it suits everyone!  You really can dress it however you want.  It’s such a ‘chic’ and simple look to wear, and never fails to gain attention when done well.

So here it goes….

I bought this sweatshirt top from Zara for £39.99 (Buy Here).  Not only does it tick the monochrome trend, but it also ticks that urban / ‘varsity’ trend which also seems to be everywhere right now. Basically, it’s a winner and well worth the money.  The shorts are also from Zara and cost me £22.99 (Buy Here) I weren't too sure if this outfit would work, but it definitely does.

So let’s go bold in monochrome!

Vintage - Yukon Parka

Just a quick post on this a.m.a.z.i.n.g coat that I’m wearing.

I’m not sure if I mentioned it but it was my birthday last weekend and this was my outfit number 1.  To kick start the weekend, I went and had breakfast at Shoreditch House, followed by shopping on brick lane. Some of you may not know, but Brick Lane is full of vintage shops, vintage markets and one off boutiques. It’s perfect, and anyone coming to London, I suggest you go here.

Back to the coat.  I bought this ‘Yukon’ parka from a vintage shop called Rokit. It looks so unique with little blue flowers embroidered on the bottom, and a fur trimmed hood with fur pom-poms on the hood strings.  It is truly amazing, so when I realised it was only £21, I grabbed it with both hands.
