Galaxy

Sorry for the lack of communication recently…I have been super busy sorting my life out.  After 5 years together….I have finally moved in with the boy. Its rather exciting news, and have spent the last few weeks buying gifts for my new ‘East London’ pad…! It’s perfect….exposed brickwork, a double balcony, cow skin rug…the lot!!

We are finally saying goodbye to any hope of 'sunshine', as the winter months seem to be getting closer and closer…...and I have to say, this makes me rather happy! Now don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the sunshine.…But I much prefer dressing for Winter. I’m so ready to get my fur’s back out and start ‘layering’ my clothes for warmth.  So to celebrate the colder months coming (Am I weird for saying this?) I bought my first piece of knitwear! I know what you’re thinking….you crazy girl for buying a ‘black’ cardigan….but seriously, if you could feel this cardigan you would understand why…it’s so bloody soft!!! Get down to Topshop before it goes!

The T-shirt is from Ebay, and was only £9.99!! It's 'space inspired' print fits in perfectly with the 'Galaxy' trend that seems to be everywhere right now!! Buy it HERE

Last thing i promise.....if anyone reads/knows of any good 'interior design' blogs, then please send them my way!?

Vivienne Westwood

(Dress: Vivienne Westwood, Shoes: Christian Louboutins, Bag: Chanel, Ring: Swarovski)

So, it was finally upon us..the most anticipated event this side of Stansted. The holy matrimony of Mr and Mrs Sam Whitnell. This being a stereo typical Essex wedding meant that it also doubled up as a fashion parade of which I was more than ready for!

After months of deliberation, buying and returning dresses I finally decided on the above little number. This Vivienne Westwood 'Red Label' Peonia Taffeta Dress was way over my budget at £560 but i couldn't resist!  It features a brocade design, with an internal corset and an elegant off-the-shoulder cut!  Vivienne Westwood is one of Britain's most celebrated designers, so i like to view it as 'an investment' not just a dress.  I topped the dress off with my 'Lou Bous' (never worn before!) and a Chanel bag, 'borrowed' from my sisters wardrobe which i guarded with my life throughout the evening!

Now, you think a wedding would be enough fun and antics for one weekend, but that wasn't the case for me and my crew.  After 2 hours sleep and a good old English breakfast we were home and ready for another fun filled day at Eastern Electrics!!  EE is a electronic music festival in Greenwich in the shadows of the O2. A top London location but it was so surreal walking past all the Olympic crowds on the way to a rave!

All in all, a great weekend!

Sunday Lunch

I’m not going to lie, last weekend was very messy.  It started early on brick lane, and finished somewhere in Hoxton….A good friend of mine is moving to Tokyo in August, so we decided to send him off in style….!

Let’s discuss what I was wearing…

This off the shoulder shirt dress is from Topshop (I’m sure you knew that already!) and comes in several colours. With it’s amazing ‘china print’ and off the shoulder detail, it was £40 well spent….BUY HERE.  The studded denim jacket is also from Topshop. (See my previous post 'BBC1 Radio Hackney Weekend')

As I was partying for approx 10 hours, these boots were the most obvious choice to wear!  They are from Jeffrey Campbell, but oh noo I did not order them from the U.S.A….I went down to my local office store! For some reason, this really upsets me L. I should be happy….right? But I’m not. I hate the fact that ‘EVERYONE’ is now wearing Jeffrey Campbell’s! BOO! Anyway you can….BUY HERE

This working week has been extremely long….but there is light at the end of the tunnel as I have Friday and Monday booked off.  My friend is getting married….O.M.G!! (In my Essex accent).  I can’t wait.  I think the Vivienne Westwood dress and Lou Bou’s can finally make an appearance!! Pictures to follow.

BBC1 Radio Hackney Weekend

For me summer means 3 things..SUN, DENIM SHORTS & GLASTONBURY!

Now, in the absence of two of those this year I was on the lookout for an alternative festival to tickle my fancy. As a former resident of Hackney I was lucky enough to get my hands on a ticket for the much hyped Radio 1 Hackney Weekend! Through a touch of fate my sister had bought one for herself not knowing she couldn’t make it, although each ticket has a photo on I happen to look a lot like Claire (we did share a womb after all) so I breezed through the pretty militant security! I did have my new Alexander Wang shades to cover my face though.

I spent most of the day in the dance tent vibing out to some pretty commercial music. Not usually my thing but the crowd I was with were game, so I threw myself into it.

The highlight of the day HAS to be Jay Z! Now, a lot of friends had been to see him on his recent Watch the Throne tour and the usual response was ‘Wow, the best thing I have ever seen’. Not being the biggest hip hop fan I though this wouldn’t be for me but O-M-GEE it was good. Such a presence, and with Rhi Rhi, MIA and Kanye thrown in for good measure I must admit I was very, very impressed!!

I suppose I should talk about what I was wearing...

Jacket - Topshop - £60 (As seen in Vogue Magazine!) - Buy HERE
Dress - River Island - £35 - Buy HERE
Necklace - Ebay - £4.70 (Including Postage!!)
Hunters - (Everyone needs a pair of hunters for the festival season!!) - Approx £80+ - Buy HEREor HERE.
